Golf Biography

John is a class “A” member of the PGA of America, elected to membership in 1998.   A native of Long Island, he attended St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington. John graduated with a BS in Business Management and Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  John entered the golf profession and attained his PGA Membership while at the Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury, LI under the tutelage of PGA Professional,Tom Joyce.  After four years at Glen Oaks, John took over as the Director of Instruction at Heartland Golf Park. He now is the Director of Golf at the Hamlet Wind Watch GC, Hauppauge, Long Island.  John is a certified Golf Club Fitting Specialist, and a TPI Certified Golf Instructor, and Certified TPI Junior Golf Coach. 

Teaching Philosophy

An accomplished instructor, John takes pride in his eclectic method of instruction. Focusing on forming a solid foundation rooted in “the basics” (grip, stance, posture, and alignment), he will teach you to swing the club free of tension, so it feels effortless. His approach takes into account that everyone is made differently, both physically and mentally, so his teaching approach is different from student to student. He will make you understand not just how, but why we do the things we do (cause and effect relationships).  Factors such as equipment choices, set composition and golf biomechanics factor into the approach he will create for you to help speed up your learning cure.  A student of the game, he has a well-rounded approach that suits beginners to professionals.
